Borderlands 3 Gameplay Reveal Trailer

Image
It's been a long time in the making. Borderlands 2 came out years ago (in 2012) so did all the spin-off games. Borderlands 3 is set to be released later this year and see's four new vault hunters taking on a new villain--villains I should say. New mechanics, new worlds and your very own ship. What Borderlands has always been known for are the insane amount of guns. This time Gearbox is doing something different, guns now have an alternative fire mode which gives you lots of options. I... can't... wait. As one of the pioneers of the looter shooter genre, Borderlands has been one of my favorite games to play. I love everything about the world and the characters. Now that we're about to open the game to not just Pandora, I'm eager to see where the game takes me. === Courtesy of Games News Network Video by Youtube [Gamespot]

Thoughts/Opinion: Tales From The Borderlands-Zer0 Sum

Image
So I just finished off Zer0 Sum, the first episode of Telltale Games latest series: Tales From The Borderlands and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I've played both of the Borderlands games, haven't tried the Pre-sequel yet, and I've played other Telltale Games. But there's something about Tales From The Borderlands that feels right at home in the craziness that is the Borderlands universe. Yes it's a point-and-click affair but everything Borderlands is here: loot and loot chests, guns, psycho migits, over-the-top badass action and lots of laughs. By the end of my playthrough I wanted to drive right back into Zer0 Sum and make different choices to see the outcome. There's a story here that's interesting in the way it's delivered and how it expands on the world of Borderlands after Handsome Jack  (*Spoilers*)  dies at the end of the second game. With the multi-perspective approach you play as two characters, Rhys and Fiona, allowing you t...

The Next Borderlands 2 DLC

Image
Aptly titled Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt, this new piece of DLC revolves around our half man half robot scholar Sir Hammerlock. You can expect new weapons, new locations, enemies and it seems Handsome Jack has a cult following. Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt drops January 15th.

Bioshock Infinite Alternate Box Art Poll

Image
About two weeks ago Irrational Games revealed the box art for the upcoming Bioshock Infinite. This reveal didn't go over too well, with a lot of people disliking the box art. This week Ken Levine and Irrational Games are giving gamers the option to choose an alternate cover for the game; turning the original into a reversible cover (a la Mass Effect 3). Head over HERE to cast you vote for said alternate cover. Personally I like Designs #2, #4 and #6 but that's just me. What say you, what's your pick for the alternate box art?

Bioshock Infinite New Box Art

Image
Last week Irrational Games released the new box art for Bioshock Infinite coming next year. The box art shows main character Booker DeWitt looking all bad-ass, shotgun in hand and the flag burning in the background. It's impressive many would say. I however don't really fancy it. The lack of Elizabeth on the cover next to DeWitt or anywhere (on the front) doesn't do it for me. Yes you'll be playing as Booker but Elizabeth is also a key part of the game, it would have been nice to see her upfront and center. But that's just me, others think it's OK while others share a similar opinion to mine.  Elizabeth is however on the back of the box but that's the back of the box. Seriously, how often do you look at the back of a game box after you've purchased it. Most likely you only do the initial glance the moment you get it in your hands and then never look back there again.

Borderland Legends Announced

Image
Hankering for more Borderlands, well now's you chance to take Borderlands wherever you go. Gearbox Software has announced that Borderlands Legends will be coming to iOS devices at the end of this month. The game is an action-RPG-strategy game that features the original cast of Borderlands and will offer the same kill, loot and level experience only this time in an isometric view. Head over to Entertainment Weekly for a first look. The game will be $4.99 on iPhone's and $6.99 on iPad's.  Now I personally don't have an iOS device, crazy I know, but I will be downloading this game on one of the many iOS devices I have access to. Let the looting begin.

New Trailer for Borderlands 2 gives Release Date and More

Image
It's been some time since we heard anything about Borderland 2 from Gearbox and 2K Games. Well that changed this morning when they released a new trailer showcasing the new playable characters, NPCs, enemies and some of the new enhancements within the game. To top it all off, the official release date for the game has been set for September 18. Of course I think Claptrap stole the show in the end of the trailer. How do you like this new trailer? And How excited are you to play Borderlands 2 when its released?

Spec Ops The Line gets Pre Order Incentives

Image
We've all become familiar with pre-order incentives, so it should come as no surprise that Yager Development and 2K Games have decided to offer incentive for Spec Ops: The Line. The third-person shooter set to be released later this year will come with several multiplayer perks when you pre-order the game. Spec Ops is slated for a June 26 release.

Bioshock Infinite get Tougher with 1999 Mode

Image
Apparently Take-Two and Irrational Games are doing something different with BioShock Infinite. In a Press Release , the developer announced a new "1999 Mode" which aims to offer a greater challenge to the game outside of just difficulty. Creative Director Ken Levine totes "In 1999 Mode, gamers face more permanent consequence of their gameplay decisions". The Press Release also goes on the state that this new mode will demand players pick specific specializations and focus on them. 1999 Mode is a result of a series of questions posed to fans about how they play BioShock games. The fans responded and the challenge is set. BioShock Infinite doesn't have a set release date but it is expected out this year. What do you think of the new mode? How challenging do you think it will be?
