GC 2018: Devil May Cry V: 15 Mins of Gameplay and Trailer

Image
With Gamescom 2018 kicking off today it's no surprise that we're getting new information about a recently announced, fan favorite, Devil May Cry V . Nero is back but this time he's different, well his arm is at least. In the demo (below) we see him utilizing a robotic, disposable arm that gets used up as he continues to fight demons. What's interesting is that as he uses them up he's able to replenish them as pickups from the environment around him. Devil May Cry has always been over the top and the trailer doesn't pull any punches there. From riding a rocket to using a bike as a weapon only to ride it again. Only Devil May Cry can pull something some wonderful off. I was never expecting to get a release date for this so soon after it was announced but it seems we'll be able to get our hands on this early next year on March 8th. I can't wait. ==== Courtesy of Games News Network Videos courtesy of IGN and Devil May Cry[Youtube]

News Byte: Bloody Palace Coming to DmC After Launch

Image
The wave based mode, Bloody Palace, that we've all come to love, and hate, from the Devil May Cry series will make its return in the upcoming reboot. Capcom and Ninja Theory have confirmed that Bloody Palace will be released as post-launch DLC and will be free of charge to boot for all you lovely DmC: Devil May Cry owners.  Four day and counting.

Devil May Cry CG Trailer

Image
Just give me this game already. As one of my most anticipated game for 2013, I'm ready to get my hands on the DmC: Devil May Cry remake. We're just under two weeks, so until then here's a new CG Trailer to hold us over until the game is released on January 15th.

Thoughts/Opinion: DmC: Devil May Cry (Demo)

Image
When I first saw the reveal trailer for the Devil May Cry reboot I couldn't be more excited. After my time with Devil May Cry 4 I was left wondering when I'd see Dante again. In the upcoming DmC: Devil May Cry developed by Ninja Theory the studio decided to create a different origin story for Dante, making him younger and changing his look--to the dismay of many fans who have come to see Dante with his iconic white hair--now black.  I'll make this short. I'm fully behind Ninja Theory with this reboot. Dante may not look the same (not that it ever bothered me) but it feels like a Devil May Cry game. After playing the recently released demo a few dozen times I've come away with a few things. The first, the game looks beautiful. Being pulled from a drab, lifeless real world to the world of Limbo is where the game really pops. Limbo feels like it has a life of it's own and really adds to the over-the-top flare that we've all come to love about Devil May...

News Byte: DmC: Devil May Cry Demo

Image
Well here's your official confirmation that the DmC Devil May Cry demo will be available on November 20th for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. You'll be able to play two mission including a boss fight and once you finish the demo you'll unlock the Son of Sparda difficulty. This announcement was made by Capcom on their BLOG  who also promise a few surprises in the demo. Next Tuesday cannot come soon enough. This also means I'll be playing this come Thanksgiving weekend which is just perfect.

Updated: DmC Vergil's Dowfall Pre-order DLC

Image
Well it seems that the DLC isn't an exclusive like I had originally thought. Those who pre-order from Gamestop will receive a code to redeem the DLC for free when it is released while others will have to pay 720MSP/$8.99 on the Xbox 360 and PS3 respectably.  Original Post: It seems like the twin we all love (or hate) will be receiving an exclusive piece of DLC as a pre-order bonus. Pre-ordering from Gamestop will not only net you the Samurai Weapon Pack but it will also give you access the Vergil's Downfall DLC. If you have no plans on getting it from Gamestop then expect to wait awhile before you can play it. The game is out January 15th. Now remember I mentioned a demo for the game, well I found an article (I think on x360a.org) that stated it would drop on November 20th. Now there's no confirmation but keep an eye out, the 20th is a week away.

DmC Performance Capture Dev Diaries

Image
The first Development Diary for the upcoming DmC: Devil May Cry reboot focus on the concept of Absolute Power. The video also introduces you to two of the voice actors in the game Robin Riker who voices Lilith and Louis Herthum who voices Mundus. DmC hits stores on January 15th with rumors of a demo coming short. Stay tuned to find out the exact date on that.

DmC New Gameplay Trailer

Image
Another game I'm eagerly awaiting is the reboot of Devil May Cry--DmC. I've realized that Ninja Theory has their hats on right and although Dante's appearance has changed, this will be a Devil May Cry game through and through. The new trailer shows off some platforming and combat which culminates into a familiar boss fight.

Review Round-Up: Devil May Cry HD Collection

Image
With a new Devil May Cry in the works from Ninja Theory Capcom is giving fans of the old Dante another chance to relive his cocky attitude and everything that made Dante who he is. Dante has become an icon among gamers and the HD remake is for them. So, lets take a look at what the critics had to say. IGN:   7.5/10 GameInformer:   8.0/10 Destructoid:   9.0/10 GameSpot:   7.5/10 MetaCritic:   79/100 OXM:   7.5/10

DmC Reboot Causes Death Threats

Image
Back in 2010, Capcom and Ninja Theory released a trailer with a dark haired protagonist by the name of Dante, the trailer ended with the name DmC-Devil May Cry. This was to become the reboot of the Devil May Cry series. However, the look of the new Dante didn't go over too well with series fans and creator Hideki Kamiya. A year and several gameplay videos later some of the fans have come aboard while others still protest Dante's new look. As a result Ninja Theory has taken a lot of negative comments about this redesign, the latest being death threats. We all love the video game industry, each in our own way. The industry innovates on a regular basis to keep the market growing. When did innovation become a bad thing? A reboot is done to add new life to a franchise and Ninja Theory is trying something new. In no way should they receive threats for taking a new direction with DmC. No matter how much you change him, the name Dante will always be synonymous with the white-haired ...

Top Picks for 2012

Image
With 2012 underway and the industry poised for another great year in gaming I bring you my top picks for 2012. With rumors of new hardware and games 2012 is already starting out strong and as I look through my Amazon list of pre-ordered games I cringe at the headshot my wallet will take this year. However, no matter the damage that hasn’t stopped me before. This list is based on the games I’m most looking forward to playing this year. Asura’s Wrath When I first saw this game I was blown away by it over the top cinematic action. I’m expecting this one to be quite an experience. Kingdom’s of Amalur: Reckoning I’m a huge RPG fan and Kindom’s of Amalur falls right into that category. Offering all the aspects of a traditional RPG plus new innovations, Reckoning will definitely appease fans of the genre. Mass Effect 3 Another great RPG, ME 3 is set to conclude the story of Commander Shepard and the Reapers as he faces their ensuing invasion. DMC Dante is back but not a...
