One thing you can more than expect from a BioWare game is a gripping story. One that is both memorable and really makes the player experience a range of emotions. That same can be expected from Anthem , their upcoming game. This Story trailer talks about all the people you'll meet during the course of your game and how interacting with them can change your story. Your choices have consequences. This is how you make the game yours. Anthem is set to be released early next year and if you're like me, you can't wait to play it either. ==== Courtesy of Games News Network

Happy New Year to everyone. I wanted to wait until next week to start posting for the new year but we're already receiving great news about upcoming games. One such piece of news is Mass Effect Andromeda's release date. The game is set to be released on March 21st in the US and the 23rd in the UK. That is right around the corner. Also coming out of CES is a new gameplay vid that shows off some of the menus and how you switch different abilities and classes. March cannot come soon enough. --- Courtesy of Games News Network

Mass Effect Andromeda - Andromeda Initiative Orientation Briefing

Image
In another trailer that dropped alongside the Mass Effect Andromeda Cinematic Reveal Trailer, the Andromeda Initiative Orientation Briefing takes a different tact but reveals a lot more about the game.  We find out the reason for the 600 year long journey which is basically to find habitable worlds in the Andromeda system. We also learn that their are three Arks including Hyperion, the one you're on, with a main hub called the Nexus that will be traveling to the Andromeda system. On each Ark is a Pathfinder, a mix of soldier, scientist and guide who runs the show. The video goes on to say over the next coming weeks we'll be granted access to information about Arks, ground vehicles, first contact protocols and weapons and biotics training should we be accepted onto the Pathfinder team. Happy N7 Day - Mass Effect Andromeda Cinematic Reveal Trailer

Image
It's N7 day, the day that has become synonymous with everything Mass Effect. Today we are celebrating Mass Effect Andromeda with a Cinematic Reveal trailer. In the trailer we get to meet our protagonist that will herald us into the new frontier, our pathfinder. We also get a glimpse of our enemy, monsters and the environments we'll get to visit. If this trailer is any indication of what this game will be like, I think one word sums it up -- EPIC. I have to say from the brief pieces of gameplay mixed in throughout this trailer the game looks beautiful and I wouldn't expect anything less. My wish for Andromeda is to put me back into that same place that Mass Effect 2 did. Expect to get your hands on Mass Effect Andromeda next Spring. --- Courtesy of Games News Network

Battlefield 4 Review Round-Up

Image
The next iteration in the Battlefield series, Battlefield 4, hit store shelves yesterday and with every new iteration comes new a new story, new modes and a bigger bang altogether. However, does this new Battlefield hit the mark. Let's see what the critics have to say: Game Informer Score: 88 Battlefield 4 doesn't advance the series in any significant way, but the subtle improvements provide enough incentive for multiplayer fans to invest heavily in the land, air, and sea battles. GameSpot Score: 80   So with five versions of the game spread across two generations of consoles, which is the best Battlefield? Unsurprisingly, the PC version remains on top with excellent visuals and sprawling 64-player matches that make the most of the great maps and incredible combat diversity . GameTrailers  Score: 95 Battlefield 4 is stout entry to the series and a strong addition to the PlayStation 4 launch lineup. As the first game to demonstrate the prowess of the Frostbite 3...

SWTOR Possibly Going Free to Play

Image
It would seem that BioWare is considering taking Star Wars: The Old Republic into the Free to Play realm. According to Emmanuel Lusinchi, Lead Designer at BioWare, the studio is investigating said possibilities and stated "We are looking at free-to-play, but I can't tell you in much detail. We have to be flexible and adapt to what is going on."  It makes perfect sense for BioWare to consider this model for SWTOR. The F2P market is getting bigger and better; so if gamers are given the option of playing something both fun and free -- most likely they'll opt for that compared to a subscription based model. Personally I'd love for them to go F2P. It would give me the ability to play whenever without having to feel like I wasted money by not playing with the month. We'll have to wait and see what BioWare decides for the future SWTOR. [via Joystiq ]

EA Press Conference Impressions

Image
Electronic Arts just wrapped its E3 Conference and with ten developer and ten games showcased--EA manages to impress. Crysis gameplay, Battlefield 3-Premium, Dead Space 3 co-op gameplay reveal and UFC joins EA are just a few highlights of the show. Check out the E3 2012 for videos from the show and the entire conference. I'm somewhat skeptical at how immersive the experience will be in Dead Space 3 with a co-op character/partner there dropping random lines when you're trying to be scared. However it does look like Visceral is really taking it to the next level. Crysis 3 looks amazing, but that's to be expected from the Crytek team and the CryEngine.

EA Montreal Under Restructuring

Image
EA today confirmed that it is restructuring its Montreal branch with focus leaning away from the AAA titles towards more social and mobile game enterprises. EA claims that this change will only affect a small number of employees as most will be reassigned to other projects with only a few leaving the company. [via GamePolitics ]
