News Byte: Characters Revealed for ME3 Extended Cut

Image
Due to the overwhelming number of fans who were disappointed with the ending to Mass Effect 3, BioWare decided to create an Extended Cut Ending. This ending would flesh out some of the holes within the current ending that confused gamers. No one has any idea how this new ending will play out, except BioWare, but now we know who will be part of said ending. Admiral Hackett, EDI and Kaiden will all be included in the DLC. Confirmation comes from their voice actors Lance Henriksen, Tricia Helfer and Raphael Sbrage respectively. You can expect to get your hands on this DLC this summer. On a side note I wanted give my impression of the overall game but I've decided to wait until the Extended Ending before I publish those impression. Although I don't think the extended ending will change my opinion too much.

BioWare announces ME3 Extended Cut

Image
So BioWare has listened to what everyone has to say about the ending to Mass Effect 3 and have decided to do something about it. Now I know it is a bit late but I was on my way to PAX when this news dropped . What BioWare will do, sometime this summer, is release an Extended Cut DLC that will provide more closure to the events of Mass Effect 3. What does this mean exactly? Well it means that the ending will not be changing and Shepard will have to make the same choices at the games conclusion. BioWare had this to say about that- Are there going to be more/different endings or ending DLCs in the future? No. BioWare strongly believes in the team’s artistic vision for the end of this arc of the Mass Effect franchise. The extended cut DLC will expand on the existing endings, but no further ending DLC is planned. What you are getting from the DLC is additional cinematics and epilogue scenes that will further expand on what happened at the end of Mass Effect 3. This may not be what ev...

This sparked a major controversy and public outcry from the players who felt cheated. One even when as far as to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. To address this BioWare's co-founder, Ray Muzyka, posted a blog stating that the ME3 team has been going over all the feedback since the games release. Muzyka promises that the team is currently working on initiatives that will provide further closure to the events of Mass Effect 3. Its good to see a developer take responsibility for its game and make arrangements to satisfy its fan-base.
