Sony has announced that there will be a God Of War: Ascension demo dropping late February. If you didn't get a chance to try the game when it was bundled with the Total Recall Blu-ray then now's your chance to give it a whirl. Personally I'm not too excited about this prequel to the God of War series. I think where God Of War 3 left off was a brilliant way to keep the Kratos story alive and I'm more interested in seeing where they go from there than this.

Microsoft E3 Countdown

So something that I've been meaning to write about that caught my attention, and probably yours as well, the countdown clock that has appeared on Major Nelson's Blog. Click HERE to check it out. Basically the countdown is slated to expire this June just in time for E3. Now let your imagination run wild as to what this could possibly mean; many are speculating that the new Xbox will be announced. That seems the most likely contender but in my opinion it's far too early to tell and why the need for the added fluff. If it is indeed the announcement of the next Xbox then I commend Microsoft on being able to keep under wraps for so long. If Microsoft does announce the next Xbox in June when will we see it. Will it release before the end of the year? maybe next year? and what about Sony and the PlayStation 4? Will that make an appearance at E3 this year? If it isn't about the next Xbox then what could it possibly be? There is too much you can speculate about, even t...

Today we get a new trailer for Dontnod and Capcom's upcoming action game Remember Me. In the trailer we see several of the gameplay elements, including traversal, combat, and at the end an arena style boss fight with someone called Kid Xmas. Remember Me hits stores this May. I'm looking forward to this one. After playing Deus Ex: HR, I'm hooked on games that let me explorer a futuristic city and this one lets you run wild in Neo-Paris. How cool is that?

A lot of you are probably having the same reaction I'm having right now. Which goes something like this, What? NO. Where the hell did this come from? News that the upcoming Tomb Raider will include a Multiplayer option was revealed last week, to the dismay of many. Today we have details on some of the modes and features that will be included in the game. Team Deathmatch is your standard gametype where you play as either Lara's allies or scavengers in a best-of-three match. You take turns switching between the two groups. Another mode, called Rescue, has you delivering Med-Packs to specific locations on the map while the opposing scavenger team has to rack up a certain number of kills. The last mode called Cry For Help revolves around the discovery and collection aspect of Tomb Raider. It is said that the multiplayer maps aren't too wide open but offers environmental traps and destructible items. Player will have several characters to choose from and will be able t...

It has been one year since I started Games News Network and boy has it been a crazy ride. The last year was filled with so much video game news, controversy, releases and much more that it was an overload at times. However, we made it through it all. Now the new year has started and we can expect more of the same. With next-gen consoles looming over the horizon for Microsoft and Sony and no official announcements made for this year it will be interesting to see how they handle the reveal; I'm thinking E3. On the games front there is a lot on the way. January is set to kick off the new year with games like DmC: Devil May Cry and Anarchy Reigns with Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Rising: Revengence, Bioshock Infinite and many more to follow in coming months. You can expect Games News Network to be on top of all the news that comes out of 2013. Expect a few changes as the months go by as I bring you my take on all the industry buzz. Happy New Year and game on.
