Image Source: thexboxhub With August well underway, it's time for another month of free games for both the Xbox One and PlayStation Plus Stores (more on that in a subsequent post). This month the Xbox Games with Gold line-up is pretty good. For the month of August from August 1st to August 31st gamers will have instant access to Forza Horizon 2. Forza is an open-world racing game that continues the long line of Forza games, being the seventh in the series. This runs along with Death Squared that will wrap its time mid-August. Next up is For Honor. It follow's up Forza Horizon 2 and will be available from August 16 until September 15. For Honor is an action fighting game that has you taking on the role of Knights, Samurais or Vikings in a post-apocalyptic setting. This came as quite a surprise when it was first announced, Disney has acquired Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion from owner George Lucas. This means that Disney now owns the rights to the Star Wars and Indiana Jones film franchises as well as several of the Lucasfilm franchises. With this acquisition Disney is now targeting 2015 for a release of Star Wars: Episode 7, with a film to follow every two to three years. This is a bit overdue on accord that mother nature has been having her way with the east cost over the last few weeks. Now onto the topic at hand.  Two weeks ago TV Guide reported that G4 is finalizing plans on a channel makeover, as a result two long-running series will stop production at the end of the year. X-Play and Attack of the Show will continue until December, however the shows leading up to the finales will feature guest co-hosts and there will be several farewell episode, as well as airing some of the shows favorite segments. SNK Playmore has announced that the Neo Geo X will be released on December 9th. The handheld, which features a 4.3" LCD screen, will cost $199 and will come with twenty pre-installed games. Hot off the presses, the next Army of Two game has been announced. The Devil's Cartel will be the next title in the third-person co-op shooter. In The Devil's Cartel you won't be playing as Salem or Rios but will have two new heroes, Alpha and Bravo, who will take you on an adventure through the streets of Mexico. This announcement comes from GameInformer  as they've revealed their September cover of the GameInformer magazine. Many of you should know Michael Fassbender but for those who aren't familiar with his work; he's been in 300, X-Men: First Class, Inglourious Bastards and more recently Prometheus. Fassbender has been cast a the lead in the Assassin's Creed movie being made by Ubisoft Motion Pictures.

Xbox 360 owners and Resident Evil fans are in for a pleasant surprise today. Capcom has released the Resident Evil 6 demo giving those who bought a new copy of Dragons Dogma access to it. The demo lets you play segments from Leon's, Chris's and Jake's campaign and experience all the new mechanics that come with this installment of RE.  I know what I'll be playing later today.

We all know that there's a new God of War coming next year. We also know, for the first time, it will include multiplayer and that it is a prequel to the first God of War. Today we find out that there will be a $79.99 Collector's Edition of the game released. Bethesda has reported that beta keys for the Skyrim Dawnguard expansion has started to trickle out to people who applied. Since there was so many who applied they have currently sent out keys to .005%, meaning there are a lot of people that will have to wait. Currently the keys are for Xbox 360 users who will be receiving an email with a redemption code.

Yesterday, or today depending on your time-zone, Konami had its pre-E3 show. This show was a compliation of several of Konami's upcoming games--both announced and unannounced. The show started out with Konami talking about their new studio and then they detailed several of their upcoming games; the show culminated with the reveal of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. A new website  has appeared teasing a new game from Konami, in addition a new cover page has been added to their Facebook page. It seems that the rumors about Konami revealing the new Castlevania: LOS game at E3 may not be too far off. This Street Fighter Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Collector's Set is a fan's dream come true. Announced today by Capcom, this collector's edition will be available on September 18th for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.   In its first week Diablo III has sold over 6.3 millions copies, making it the fastest selling PC game EVER. Even though Diablo III had a rocky start it still managed to move 3.5 million in the first 24 hours. This is what happens when you have a brilliant game and a giant fans base. Hats off to Blizzard.

Deep Silver has announced that a Game of the Year Edition for Dead Island will be released this June. On June 26th players can obtain the game which will include the Ryder White's Campaign DLC, Bloodbath Arena, and the Ripper weapon blueprint.  The Dead Island Game of the Year Edition will be available on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC for $29.99.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be released on October 9 for PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 as announced by 2K Games and Firaxis. With the announcement they also announce the pre-order and special edition details for Enemy Unknown.
