Eager to Play Marvel's Spider-Man

Image
Insomniac's Marvel Spider-Man, due out in September, had a great showing at E3 a few days ago. I've watched every gameplay video that I could find from the time and I have to say that I can't get enough of this game and I can't wait to get my hands on it. I literally sent a tweet to Insomniac begging for them to release a demo. PLEASE. Feed my need to play this awesome game. Everything about this game makes me want to play it so bad. From the web-swinging to the combat, it all looks so great. So wonderful. So much like Spider-Man and I can't wait to be him in this game. More importantly, I want, much like all the other Spidey fans out there I'm sure, I want to see how this game's story unfolds. The Sony Press Conference gameplay trailer ended on such a cliffhanger that it has sparked so many fan theories. Who's the mastermind behind it all? I have my own theories and I want to see what happens next. Let's talk about web-swinging first. It looks...

Sony E3 Press Conference

Image
Last year Sony blew me away with their conference. The number of games they had to show us, many of which I've played over the last year and that I'm still playing to this day, became hits and best sellers. Tonight I hope for more of the same. Sony kicked off their conference with a musical interlude and then goes right into Last of Us 2. It opens with brilliant cinematic and transitions seamlessly into gameplay. I have friends who don't even own a PS4 talking about just this intro beat out anything Microsoft showed off the day before. That speaks volumes to me. Last of Us 2 looks and plays like a marvel. After a brief intermission, which wasn't that brief as I sat at the edge of my seat patiently waiting for it to return. Sony came back with Ghost of Tsushima which had a mix of stealth and combat gameplay. They showed off a new game called Control and then stunned everyone with the reveal of Resident Evil 2 Remastered. OMG, Kingdom Heart III in Pirates of t...

Weighing In: Are Single-Player Games Dying

Image
There has been an ongoing debate as to the current state of the video game industry as it concerns single-player games and if it's dying out. Now, I can completely understand where this is coming from in light of recent trends where games have adopted more of a service model to get gamers to shell out more money over time. I have my own grievances with that but I won't go into that here. With that being said, I have to say that I don't believe that single-player games are on their way out. Here's why. While more and more games are becoming multiplayer focused with the inclusion of certain services, take for instance  Overwatch  and more recently PUBG  but let's not also forget Assasin's Creed Origins . We're seeing that games are coming with ways for publishers to get gamers to spend more than just the price of the game. If it's not a season pass or special editions of these games then there are loot boxes and add-ons to make the game more accessib...

PlayStation Network Down World Wide

Image
It would seem that the PlayStation Network is experience a bit of technical difficulties and has gone down worldwide. There's no apparent reason behind the outage and this has upset many of PS gamers who are trying to play their games. Sony isn't a stranger to outages but based on what I've seen it's an all too frequent occurrence. Sony is investigating this current outage so here's hoping the PlayStation Network goes back up soon. --- Courtesy of Games News Network

GameInformer Reveals More About Infamous Second Son

Image
Recently Game Informer revealed the cover for their June issue. This issue, which should be available now for digital subscribers and in a few weeks for printer subscribers, has be dubbed the "definitive" PlayStation 4 issue. It covers everything PS4, from the future of the console to the new swanky controller to games. Games like Infamous: Second Son from Sucker Punch. Second Son will have a 10-page spread in the issue that will most likely be filled with juicy bits about the upcoming PS4 exclusive. Here's what I know so far about Infamous: Second Son (in list form, because who doesn't like a nice list):  The game takes place in  Seattle, now under lock down. You play as Delsin Rowe, a 24-year-old rebel with a cause. Cole MacGrath, the protagonist from the first two Infamous games, is in fact dead. Delsin doesn't know he is a Conduit at first and can absorb the abilities of others, a la Peter Petrelli from Heroes :). His first being the ab...
