Playing Several Massive Open World Games at Once

Image
I'm sure many of you have played games like The Witcher 3, Grand Theft Auto V, Fallout 4, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and the list goes on. The question is, have you played these massive open world games at the same time. I don't mean that in a literal sense but more in terms of jumping between these worlds in an aim to get to the end game, where the credits finally roll. I haven't and don't think I'd put myself in that kind of hell. Why is it hell? Let's get into that. Open World games these days are MASSIVE, usually taking up an entire real-world city or small country. Take The Witcher 3 for example. The game world is so expansive it takes you some time to travel from one end of the map to the other and that's one reason these games can be hell; their sheer size. Moreso if they don't have any type of fast travel system, traveling can be a task in itself. Can you image trying to play Skyrim without any sort of Fast Travel. It would take a player ages t...

Gaming Woes

Image
It's been some time since I've done a post to Games News Network. Not just that, it's also been awhile since I've played a game to completion. Forget that my backlog is ever growing. I just can't seem to find the time to sit and play for extended hours. The last game I dropped into my Xbox 360 was Castlevania: LoS 2. Which is a great game, loved the first one. Even though I haven't been doing regular updates, the gaming industry still continues to thrive. Each and every day there's something new.  This stint of non-gaming and a lack of updates cannot stand any longer. As such, I will try my best return to form with regular updates and articles. So until then, keep on gaming. Courtesy of  Games News Network

I'm Back!!!

Image
Apologies are in order. For the past month or so I've been, for lack of a better word, neglecting my blog. During that time I've missed a bit. My last post was about the Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC, that has since been released and a new piece of DLC--Omega--is set to be released. So let's do a quick recap of what I didn't post over the time I was away. Let's see things you may have heard and some that I found really surprising. The Nintendo Wii U has an official release date and price point, coming in two version. This came by way of an event Nintendo held where they revealed that the Wii U will be released this November with an 8GB and 32GB model (White and Black respectively). The price ranges from 299 to 349 which isn't that much of a jump when you look at the size difference. The doctors and co-founders of Bioware, Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka, are no longer part of the company having retired. In the same vein Cliff Bleszinski has also left Epic a...

Nintendo Announces 3DS XL and More...

Image
Last week Reggie Fils-Aime hosted the Nintendo direct show where he revealed several projects occurring within Nintendo and what we'll get to see over the next several months. The first thing he revealed was the 3DS XL which is, as the name implies, a bigger version to the 3DS. It packs two huge screens that are 90% bigger than its predecessors, comes with a 4gb SD card and will be released on August 19th. Throughout the show the went over several games including Kirby's Dream Collection, Pikman 2, the Nintendo eShop and much more. What came as a surprise was the announcement that Nintendo is partnering with Namco Bandai to create the next Super Smash Brothers. There's a lot more that Nintendo goes over so check out the video below.

Kinect Star Wars Motions toward Release

Image
If you were eagerly awaiting the release of Microsoft Kinect Star Wars then you'll be glad to know that it has an official release date. After being delayed last year the game is set to launch on April 3rd. Alongside this release will also be the Kinect Star Wars themed Xbox 360 console. Kinect Star Wars will have several modes including Podracing and a Dance Off mode where you dance to Star Wars themed music. Will the force be with Kinect Star Wars when it's released or will it be just another Kinect title? [via OXM ]

Netflix Deep-sixes Game Rental Plan

Image
Those who were looking forward to Netflix's game rental service will have to find other means of doing so. Netflix has decided to drop their plan to implement a game rental service in addition to the movie rental and video streaming service. It seems that having a game rental element to Netflix wasn't something customers really cared much for.
