Final Fantasy XVI: Demo Impression

Image
Yes, I know this is quite late as the demo for Final Fantasy XVI was released back on June 12th, but it needs to be said that this is one of the best demos I've played to date. The demo gives you two snippets from the game. The first few opening hours which ends in an unbelievable moment (no spoilers here). Once you finish that, it gives you a slice of the game a few hours in with unlocked abilities. One is story heavy while the other is more about the combat system. Starting up the first story-related segment is a wonder. You're placed into control of the Phoenix Eikon with no idea of what's going on while you fighting against Ifrit. It transitions seamlessly to see you take control of Clive as he hunts for the Shiva Dominant. You're treated to some story related cutscenes that setup up the, and I hate to use it, Game of Thrones-like story. This story is DARK, that needs to be said upfront and honestly, for me--it works. Once this segment transitions ove...

Kingdom Hearts III Has Gone GOLD!!!

Image
Kingdom Hearts III has gone GOLD. To say that sounds like something so long in the making; to be able to finally say it feels surreal. We have just a little over two months to catch up on the previous games (should you so choose) but I know I'll be doing that. I can't believe it's finally about to happen. I'll get to continue and finish Sora's journey I began so long ago (T.T). ==== Courtesy of Games News Network Vid by IGN Youtube

TGS 2018: Kingdom Hearts III Big Hero 6 Trailer

Image
The more I see of this game the more I can't get my hands on it. We've know for a long time that Big Hero 6 was going to be one of the new worlds in Kingdom Hearts III but this is our first time seeing so much of how our hero's; Sora, Donald and Goofy, interact with this world. Kingdom Hearts III is set to be released next year on January 25th. ==== Courtesy of Games News Network

Noctis Joins Tekken 7 Roster

Image
It was a busy weekend and I completely missed this one, but being a long-time fan of the fighting series I always enjoy these little surprises. Final Fantasy XV 's Noctis will be going the ranks of Jin and the rest. Granted I would have loved to see one of the older Tekken characters returning like say Bruce or even Gon, just for laughs. However, seeing as we have Akuma from Street Fighter in the game what's another crossover character. I do like how they've made his moves part of his fighting style and it looks to work well with all the new mechanics of Tekken 7. --- Courtesy of Games News Network & Bandai Namco Entertainment

What I'm Playing this Week

Image
With several games coming in the coming weeks I have a lot of catching up to do. With that being said what I'm playing this week is a mixed bag. Dishonored : With Dishonored 2 out next month I needed to revised Dishonored to get a feel for the game and to complete the story. I managed to finish a high chaos run recently so I need to jump back in one more time for a low chaos run. Titanfall 2 : I never played Titanfall. Why? Because it didn't have a single player campaign. I'm not all too keep on games that only offer a multiplayer experience. So with Titanfall 2 having a story campaign, I'll invest time in it this coming weekend.  Batman : The 3rd episode of Telltales Batman is out and continues the story of the Dark Knight as he once again tries to protect Gotham from harm. I tried this last night but there was an issue with the season pass but will definitely jump behind this once it's fixed. World of Final Fantasy : I got this one to scratch my...

Final Fantasy XV - Death Caster Spell Trailer

Image
Final Fantasy is known for their powerful spells among other things. Death is one such spell. This iteration of the powerful one-hit KO spell, when it hits, does it abit different. From the trailer you can see Noctis equip the Ring of the Lucil. I'm not sure if this is same ring from the KingsGlaive movie but it seems to be going by the items description. This Death Spell literally sucks the life out of enemies until the die in a puff of smoke. The drawback to this spell, is that it leaves you completely open to attack and takes some time to cast. I completely understand for limitations on such a powerful spell and can't wait to get my hands of this game. November cannot come soon enough. --- Courtesy of Games News Network

Final Fantasy XV - TGS 2016 Trailer

Image
After watching the most recent Kingsglaive movies I'm more than set to enter the world of Final Fantasy XV and continue the story where the movie lets off. Joining Noct and his bros and they see the world while trying to reclaim his throne. November 29 can't come soon enough. --- Courtesy of Games News Network

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Prologue Trailer

Image
So this dropped this morning and it almost brought me to tears. I'm such a Kingdom Hearts fan that every and anything from this game really gets me going. This comes via this year's Tokyo Game Show, which will be taking place from September 15-18.  Stay tuned for more from TGS later this week. --- Courtesy of Games News Network

My Time With Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Image
As Adam Jensen dived toward an unfinished hotel I couldn't help but feel excited and ready to get my hands on him and his wonderful augments once again. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided greatly improves on it predecessor, Human Revolution, but by the end of it all I'm left wanting so much more. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided opens in grand fashion with a tutorial level that familiarizes you with the new mechanics in the game. From there the story expands to show the fallout from Human Revolution and how a bombing in the outset of Mankind Divided is driven by an Illuminati plot. What this gives you is a story that pushes you from plot point to plot point without offering up too many surprises. Just as the story ramps up the game ends, leaving a unfulfilled taste. "That's it." Those were my words when the screen faded to black and the credits began to roll. Without going into too much detail and not wanting to spoil the game for those who haven't played Mankind Divided y...

I CAN'T WAIT. The above trailer shows off some of those upgrades and what we can expect from Deux Ex: Mankind Divided. ---- Courtesy of Games News Network

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Announcement Trailer

Image
Yesterday Square Enix officially announced the follow-up game to it's 2011 hit Deus Ex: Human Revolution via one hell of a CGI trailer. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided takes place two years after the events of Human Revolution and see's the return of our protagonist Adam Jensen. Tensions are high between augmented individuals and those without causing ever increase conflicts; that's the premise of Mankind Divided. Going by the trailer the Illuminati has a part of play in the events as they add fuel to the fire in the hostility between the two groups. Wouldn't be the first time. I can't stress enough how much I loved Human Revolution and enjoyed my playthroughs. After seeing this I'm definitely going to jump back in for another go. Mankind Divided looks like it'll let you be even more of an augmented bad ass and I can't wait for the opportunity to try out some new augments. If the actually game is an reflection of the trailer then there will be much fun t...

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX Release Date

Image
After Kingdom Heart 1.5 ReMIX was released last year, it looks like we'll be able to get our hands on the follow-up later this year. Kingdom Hearts 2.5 ReMIX will hit stores on December 2, exclusively on the PlayStation 3. With Kingdom Hearts 2.5 ReMIX comes Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts: Recoded. No matter how many times I see this game or play it, it always brings a tear to my eye. I love this entire franchise and, like all the fans out there, I can't wait to get my hands on this one. Enjoy the trailer below and the the small Kingdom Heart 3 tease at the end. ----- Courtesy of Games News Network

Kingdom Hearts 3 90 Seconds of Gameplay

Image
About a week ago the first gameplay video of Kingdom Hearts 3 made its way to the internet. It came via the D23 Expo  Japan   2013 celebrating the 90th Anniversary of the Walt Disney Company and the 30th Anniversary of the Tokyo Disney Resort. The trailer sees Sora and company doing battle against several baddies and displays several new gameplay mechanics. What totally slays me is the transformation the Keyblade goes through, becoming a blaster. This new transformation is called, wait for it, Keyblade Transformation and varies depending on the Keyblade equipped. This new element is sure to hold a lot of surprises when KH 3 launches, I'm excited at the possibilities. The trailer then goes into Sora fighting enemies while riding on the helm of a Pirate Ship and a battle between Sora and a titan while riding a roller coaster, which is impressive to say the least. This is called the Attraction Flow which, as I understand it, is an evolution of the Free Flow from KH ...

Tomb Raider Multiplayer Details

Image
A lot of you are probably having the same reaction I'm having right now. Which goes something like this, What? NO. Where the hell did this come from? News that the upcoming Tomb Raider will include a Multiplayer option was revealed last week, to the dismay of many. Today we have details on some of the modes and features that will be included in the game. Team Deathmatch is your standard gametype where you play as either Lara's allies or  scavengers in a best-of-three match. You take turns switching between the two groups. Another mode, called Rescue, has you delivering Med-Packs to specific locations on the map while the opposing scavenger team has to rack up a certain number of kills. The last mode called Cry For Help revolves around the discovery and collection aspect of Tomb Raider. It is said that the multiplayer maps aren't too wide open but offers environmental traps and destructible items. Player will have several characters to choose from and will be able t...
