X-Play & AOTS Cancelled by G4

This is a bit overdue on accord that mother nature has been having her way with the east cost over the last few weeks. Now onto the topic at hand.  Two weeks ago TV Guide reported that G4 is finalizing plans on a channel makeover, as a result two long-running series will stop production at the end of the year. X-Play and Attack of the Show will continue until December, however the shows leading up to the finales will feature guest co-hosts and there will be several farewell episode, as well as airing some of the shows favorite segments.
Attack of the Show and X-Play have been important for G4, and we want to acknowledge the creative people who have helped inspire and showcase the phenomenon of gamer culture," says G4 Media general manager Adam Stotsky. "With more than 3,000 episodes aired between them, we have more than enough great material to honor these innovators and their amazing contributions as we bring both shows to a close.
It seems G4 is moving into a more upscale, guy centered TV network and maybe partnering with Esquire magazine. No matter what direction the network takes it won't be the same that geeks and gamers have come to love over the years. One can assume that this was the reason Adam Sessler and Kevin Pereira left the network a few months back but we can only speculate. In any case this is farewell to G4 it was fun while it lasted.
