News Byte: Far Cry 3 Delayed

Well another game has jumped aboard the delay train. Far Cry 3 which was scheduled to be released this September will now be released in December. Ubisoft has sited the need to create the best possible gameplay experience--which is the usually comment for every delayed game.


They may say that but I wonder if this delay has to do with any feedback the may have received from their showing at E3 this year. In any case you can expect Far Cry 3 on December 4th in the US and November 29th in the UK.

As a consumer society we like, need and want different things and with a variety of options getting them can easily be achieved. When you apply this to the video game industry you get games in the various versions, from Regular to Limited Editions, to Collector’s and Deluxe Editions. In addition to these editions, retailers often take it upon themselves to offer pre-order incentives. Pre-Ordering will give you access to a specific item, weapon or accessory, a discount or some other incentive that is unique to the store to get customer to buy from that retailer. In 2011 we saw several games receive the incentives treatment and a few that received retailer specific incentives. Its now 2012 and retailers are back at it again. Mass Effect 3 and Prototype 2 have both been given retailer specific incentive months before their launch and you can guarantee a lot more will follow. Mass Effect 3: Operation RESURGENCE

The next operation for Mass Effect 3 is about to begin. BioWare recently released the Resurgence Multiplayer which includes several new classes, weapons and maps. To go with this release this weekend's event will be codename RESURGENCE. All participating squads in this event will earn +10% experience when playing on the new Firebase maps: Hydra and Condor. In addition if you play this weekend you'll be rewarded with a Reserves Pack which contains one of the new class characters. This operation is only for XBOX360 and PC user and will run from Friday, April 13th at 5PM PST and ends Monday, April 16th at 5AM PST.
