I'm Back!!!

Apologies are in order. For the past month or so I've been, for lack of a better word, neglecting my blog. During that time I've missed a bit. My last post was about the Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC, that has since been released and a new piece of DLC--Omega--is set to be released. So let's do a quick recap of what I didn't post over the time I was away.

Let's see things you may have heard and some that I found really surprising. The Nintendo Wii U has an official release date and price point, coming in two version. This came by way of an event Nintendo held where they revealed that the Wii U will be released this November with an 8GB and 32GB model (White and Black respectively). The price ranges from 299 to 349 which isn't that much of a jump when you look at the size difference.

The doctors and co-founders of Bioware, Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka, are no longer part of the company having retired. In the same vein Cliff Bleszinski has also left Epic after being with the studio for years. These two announcements came a short time apart from each other and you can guess how unbelievable it was to hear at the time. Looking back on it, people retire--it happens but all I could think was that the industry has lost a few heavyweights. On the bright side it opens the door for others to take up the helm and bring us something good.

What else didn't I cover..., Oh there was the release of Borderlands 2 which is totally AWESOME--the recent addition of a 5th character GAIGE has been very well received--Smash the System. Dishonored was also released, receiving high marks and being considered as a Game of the Year contender. There was also two conventions, the Tokyo Game Show and most recently the New York City Comic Con. I'm still beating myself up for not going to NYCC, missed the chance to play the new DmC. As you can expect from any of these shows there were a lot of trailers and gameplay footage to be seen so I'm sure you can check out any game centered site (IGN, Gamespot, GameInformer) for these trailers and announcements from the respective shows.

Let's bring this to a close right here. I'm back and I'll try my best to provide regular updates on everything from the industry so stay tuned.
