CyberPunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games of the year. It was slated to be released earlier but was pushed to September. With that being said an Xbox One X Limited Edition Console was announced soon after and MY GOD is it beautiful. That was scheduled to be release in June. There was no set date for the release but when they created an Xbox page for it, I was there. Everyday. Refreshing. I DID NOT want to miss this console. No way was I was going to let this console pass me by. When June finally hit I was there refreshing like a madman just to make sure I didn't miss it.
Now here's where this story goes south. One day last week I woke up, signed into work since I've been working remotely, as most others have, and totally spaced on refreshing. When I did, around 11am that morning--they were gone. My jaw hit the floor. Not only did the console get released [with what feels like no warning-although that's probably my fault for not doing enough research] but it was sold out in minutes. Inconceivable. So, I searched. Every retailer I could think of that would have the console listed. From Gamestop to Amazon to smaller known retailers. It was gone everywhere. Heartbroken and disappointed could not come close to how I was feeling. Not only did I miss my chance but there was no way for me to get the console now so I gave up.
A day later I was curious to see if it the console was being resold, well because that's a thing people do. Buy more than needed or just to then put it back online at a higher price. And MY GOD did they. At almost 4x the price of the original console. There is no way I was paying that much for a console. As much as I love the design, love everything I've seen and heard about the game. There was just no way to justify that purchase price, especially right now with the way the economy is going. However, I'm not giving up hope. I will one day get my hands on a CyberPunk 2077 Limited Edition Xbox One X. Why? Because it's just so an AWESOME design.

As a consumer society we like, need and want different things and with a variety of options getting them can easily be achieved. When you apply this to the video game industry you get games in the various versions, from Regular to Limited Editions, to Collector’s and Deluxe Editions. In addition to these editions, retailers often take it upon themselves to offer pre-order incentives. Pre-Ordering will give you access to a specific item, weapon or accessory, a discount or some other incentive that is unique to the store to get customer to buy from that retailer. In 2011 we saw several games receive the incentives treatment and a few that received retailer specific incentives. Its now 2012 and retailers are back at it again. Mass Effect 3 and Prototype 2 have both been given retailer specific incentive months before their launch and you can guarantee a lot more will follow. As a result, gamers have to choose the incentive they really want but not necessarily from their regular retaile
I want to start a weekly series of discussion post where a topic is picked and we have an open discussion of our thoughts and opinions. I have a few topics in mind but I open the floor to suggestions. In the video game industry, today's games usually have several modes unique to them. Two of those modes, single-player and multiplayer have become a norm for most game. Single-player is all about experiencing the story behind the game, watching beautifully rendered cut scenes and getting to know the main character(s). Multiplayer on the other hand is all about interacting with multiply players across the world while adhering to the game world and mechanics. There are a variety of different multiplayer game types, players may individually compete against two or more human contestants, work cooperatively to achieve a goal, or engage in a game type that incorporates any combination mentioned above. In the past few years the line between the two modes have started to blur, you can
