Disney Closes LucasArts

As I'm sure you've heard by now, Disney has closed developer/publisher LucasArts which it acquired awhile back. LucasArts has been in the game since the early 80s and to see it go like this may have come as quite a shock to most. At this point it's still up in the air what will happen to the projects they were working on, like Star Wars 1313, as they switch to a licensing based model. Below is an official statement made by the company:
After evaluating our position in the games market, we’ve decided to shift LucasArts from an internal development to a licensing model, minimizing the company’s risk while achieving a broader portfolio of quality Star Wars games. As a result of this change, we’ve had layoffs across the organization. We are incredibly appreciative and proud of the talented teams who have been developing our new titles.
